SUMMER KALEIDOSCOPE
2015
Summer Kaleidoscope is a large-scale horizontal ground mural painted directly onto the asphalt at Eakins Oval on Philadelphia's Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Vibrant, interlocking geometric shapes unfold outward from the center in a butterfly-like symmetry, creating a pattern that shifts and repeats like the view through a kaleidoscope. Designed to be walked on, the mural doubles as a playful maze, inviting visitors to wander through the color and make the space their own.
Painted in July 2015 for the city's seasonal pop-up park, the project was commissioned by the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program and the Fairmount Park Conservancy.
