PURPLE LINE: PINEY BRANCH STATION

The Purple Line is a 16-mile light rail system connecting Bethesda, MD to New Carrollton, MD.  With 21 stations across Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.

For the Piney Branch Road station, we created a colorful canopy and windscreen inspired by the surrounding landscape. The abstract design references the lines and pathways of a map. Printed on translucent glass, the colors respond to the changing light throu
